President's report: Hi. I made it here through the snow. I found another design contest to design stuff, for dolls. Details to follow. VP report: I'm here until 11:30. I exist. Vice is nice but babies take a lot of time. Olivia is happy and heathly and at 6 months has almost doubled her birth weight. She is almost walking. Secretary: (Rich Fine acting): Two corrections to the minutes. (1) How to make checks out to Northern Light, (2) Regarding the American Textile Museum exhibit. Minutes accepted as corrected. Pat thanks Rich for his 'fine' work at taking these minutes. Treasurer: Report got in on time. If you have an address change, email change, or any change at all I am required to report the changes to the ICG. Dues renewal will be collected after this meeting. I will not be at Arisia. Old business: Laurel Cunningham-Hill will be running a makeup session after the meeting at Pat's house. The CC 25 Future Fashion Folio is now open. Con will be April 2007 in St. Louis. The exhibit includes art work, film clips, hands on science and interactive computers: ăWhere science meets imagination.ä Rich & Stephanie are planning on going Monday, January 16th, immediately following Arisia. Contact the Fines at Arisia if you are interested in going then. Susan says The Wookiee costume was excellent. Arisia is next weekend! The pens and tape measures will make it to Arisia. They will be at the artist check-in desk. (Pat will drop off with Dr. Karen the ones she got from Jill.) (Added from discussion at the Costume Meeting following the NOEL Meeting on Sunday.) Ann, Jerome, Kara, Stephanie and Nancy volunteered to put in an hour or so at the Arisia table. Stephanie volunteered to print off colored flyers; 200 to be printed from flyer on website. Nancy suggested we have a Îfollow-up/contact sheetâ as well as a table sign-up sheet. Ann to print out these forms and bring them to Arisia on Friday. Susan looking into a cheap source for a Îhall awardâ ribbon to be added to the tape measures. The pens are to be given out to anyone signing up; these are freebees. People who hand out the tape measurers for the hall awards should keep a record of who they have given the measurers out to and take a picture of them. Kara volunteered to do this. Pat's suggestion that the Masquerade award be called ÎA Measure of Successâ was unanimously accepted. Jerome asked that all NOEL members attending the Masquerade meet him at the back wall at the beginning of half-time. After we find Jerome we will get some agreement of who we want to award a pen and tape measure to. Jerome will be bringing some ribbon to tie the two items together. Allan suggested that we plan to give out no more than 5 awards at the masquerade. Ann put forth the idea that these awards not be given to other NOEL members; this was accepted. Kara suggested that we Not give the award to "Best of" people; problem is that we have to make our decision before we know who the judges have decided is ÎBest ofâ. It was decided we should Not give the award to a master costumer as our 'Measure of Success' is to encourage New people. ) There will be a meeting at Arisia. Place and time to be determined. Dina has tentatively volunteered her room. Call 978-394-1367 to double check meeting information. Do not call this number until Saturday. It is Dina's cell phone. The contest is being run and sponsored by DollHeart. There are several sizes and categories of dolls. Ann will email the URL for the contest web site to the list. The winner in each category will have their design made up, will get one of the dolls built according to that design, and will have their name credited for the design.
